2017 Round-Up

2017 has been quite a year, with extreme highs and lows...like a rollercoaster ride!  I have to say...I'm looking forward to a new year and a fresh start, so to speak, with 2018...

We had such a devastating blow at the end of March with the disappearance of Jeremy who has still not been found. So hard not to be able to have a single trace on him. People were amazing with spreading his description in the media and via Facebook. We have to hope that one day he will be found…there is a Help Find Jeremy page on Facebook dedicated to finding him.

Friday, Wolfie, Breeze and Puffin were rehomed. Star became a best friend to Topsy at the yard. Munchie’s been our rehab case and he’s kept us busy this year and is teaching us so much!

There was the essential haymaking and fundraising…and of course an epic amount of mucking out and hay net filling (especially when there were 11 ponies on the yard!).

We continued pushing for change on Bodmin based on the results of our research and have had some important meetings relating to this in order to get change for all the animals grazing up there. We also worked to ensure standards would be upheld at Hallworthy Horse Sale so that there was not a repeat of the issues seen at the 2016 sale.

Margaret’s had a year of parties with her 10th year volunteering and 4 parties for her 80th birthday! And also the challenge of recovering from a mini-stroke and a fall.

Sadly, Treacle the yard cat died towards the end of the year and then one of our supporters, Margaret Cruft.

We’ve finished on a high with managing to purchase our red light kit, which is just amazing! Faye’s busy with all her extra studying which is really going to benefit all the ponies once she’s got her extra qualifications.

Thank you everyone for all your help and support for P4P!

These are some of our favourite photos from 2017 (click on the photos to enlarge them)!  Happy New Year everyone!

It's Nearly Christmas!

The tree is all decorated and looking beautiful...

...as it's in the conservatory and it was one of Treacle's favourite places to be it seemed fitting to make a Christmas tree decoration in honour of Treacle.  It's turned out rather well with snowy whiskers for a 'Christmas' touch! Maybe we'll have to attempt some pony decorations next year!

Christmas Thank You's!

Sorry everyone for the delay in blogging!  The internet has been very unhelpful the last few weeks and seemed to spend more time unavailable than functioning!

The ponies and ourselves have lots of thank you's to send our supporters who have been AMAZING this Christmas - we really appreciate your support so much!

THANK YOU to everyone who has remembered to use Easyfundraising whilst you've been doing your Christmas shopping - since our winter newsletter was published, you've raised over £36 in donations from retailers!  Well done everyone!

THANK YOU - to Martin and Karen for donating products for the ponies for their xmas presents through Naturally Animals!  Margaret has bought some new feed bowls for the ponies too.

THANK YOU to everyone who has bought a calendar (or multiple calendars!) to support the ponies - everyone has been loving the new design and we have just 9 remaining!  (Still time to get in touch if you would like a copy)!!

THANK YOU to everyone who has sent the ponies cards...and donations for Christmas too - Paul and Cilla, Kirsten and the Freieslebens, Liz, Kath, Sarah and Charlie, Carol, David and Kay and Thea...and everyone who has sponsored a pony too!

And a last HUGE THANK YOU to John and Joan, Juliet, Anne and John, GRAT and the Heathcoat Amory's whose donations enabled us to purchase our red light therapy kit - such an amazing Christmas present and it's been busy in use ever since it arrived!  We are so lucky!  Thank you to Catherine Edwards and the Photonic Light Company for arranging a discount for us!

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

And THANK YOU to Faye who works so hard to look after the ponies and all the people involved as well as campaigning to improve conditions for the wild ponies out there.
